Philosophy
Only by sharing knowledge can the human condition be improved and peace be realized.
The Shared Opportunities Society Foundation aims to foster a society where everyone can freely and equally acquire knowledge through education, contribute to the production of knowledge through research and engage in the exchange of knowledge through various media.

Yuval N. Harari’s insights into the relationship between technological regimes, dominant ideologies and social, economic and political order make us aware that the present technological shift characterized by connectivity, big data and ever-growing computing power has the potential to undermine the ideological basis of a liberal society.
How can we ensure that the capabilities created by new technologies will
– strengthen the foundations of an open, free and inclusive society,
– improve the apparent short-comings of our present systems such as inequalities and overuse of natural resources ?
We believe the key will be a decentralized system of governance supported by knowledge infrastructures, which are characterized by openness/accessibility, transparency/verifiability and vitality/alertness, i.e., the ability to detect and to adjust to improved knowledge.
